Welcome to Primitive Farms. Although we are a brand new farm with close to no experience, we are practicing regenerative farming, with an emphasis on permaculture. We are excited you came to visit the site, and will have many exciting new features added, especially as we learn how to ship our products across state lines!
Our Story
Primitive Farms is a brand new venture that started in April of 2021. What started as a dream to raise Bison, Matt, his wife Kayla, and his parents Kevin and Sharal purchased a retired hemp farm to begin making that dream a reality.
Matt and Kayla spent four years selling health insurance, and decided it was time to pursue a passion for raising their own food, rather than stay in a career that was hard to find joy in. The decision came after losing a great friend to cancer, and realigning our life to live purposefully and intentionally.
We hope you follow our journey from learning about farming and raising animals, to managing our land in a way pleasing to God.
